(DAY 1) We begin our adventure in Quito, known as “Carita de Dios” (Face of God) with a city tour through its narrow streets full of histories and arts. Also, we go to a visit the Middle of the World complex for north and south photos. We took this day, as acclimatization day (we are now at 9,000 feet above sea level).

(DAY 2) A hike up to the Pichincha volcano right next to Quito. This will be a low level hike of about 3 miles. Very easy to do and with stunning views of the city below. Prepare your cameras!

(DAY 3) We travel to Cotopaxi, this is an incredible snow covered cone in the middle of a plateau, good opportunities for bird watching, a medium difficulty hike to the refuge plus a little more effort to get to the glacier.

Lunch will be served in a restaurant located on the outskirts of the mountain, then a walk around the Limpiopungo lagoon. (Cycling enthusiasts can book a downhill bike activity at no additional cost, but the activity must be booked in advance)

Overnight in Riobamba city.

(DAY 4) Walk to the Chimborazo Volcano, the furthest point from the center of the earth. This is due to the ovoid shape of our planet, the Chimborazo located on the equator rises beyond Mount Everest.

This will also be our best chance of reaching 15,300 feet above sea level on a low level hike. Then, for a dramatic change of pace, we’ll travel to Cuenca, Ecuador’s charming colonial city with cobbled streets, wrought-iron balconies, and carved wooden doors everywhere. Also, a World cultural heritage by Unesco.

(DAY 5) We start the day with a walk through the city and then a visit to the El Cajas National Park with a walk through the moors, where we will witness a really rare astronomical phenomenon, a Meteorite Impact.

We will finish our day in Guayaquil, to warm our thoughts.
